Kids' Clothing Size Chart by Age — Sizes 50 to 176, and How Long Each One Lasts

The numbers on our labels are heights in centimetres, not ages — that's the European convention, and it's the one measure that actually tells you whether a piece will fit. Below is the full run we cut in, 50 to 176, next to the age it usually matches and roughly how long a child stays in it. Measure her standing against a wall if you can; age is a guess, height is a fact.

Two things worth saying plainly: every child grows at her own pace, so treat the "how long it lasts" column as an average, not a promise — and our cut runs slim and European throughout, so if she's between two sizes on the chart, we'd size up rather than down.

Why a size chart isn't enough on its own

A number on a label tells you the size the piece was cut to, not how it will sit on a particular child. Two children can share a birthday and a height and still need different sizes, because sizing follows the body, not the calendar. If you've ordered from us before and know how a piece fit last time, that's a better guide than any chart — including this one. If you'd rather work from exact body measurements — chest, waist, hip, inseam — our detailed sizing chart has those broken out by size.

Buying ahead, and what to do when she outgrows it

Because the smaller sizes move fastest, it's reasonable to buy one size ahead for a piece you know she'll wear through a season. What we'd avoid is buying two sizes ahead on a guess — the chart above is there so you don't have to.

Frequently asked

What age is size 92, and what age is size 104?

92 is cut for roughly a 2-year-old, and 104 for roughly a 4-year-old — but both are height sizes first. If she's tall for her age, we'd size up from the age column to the height that actually matches her.

How do I measure my child for the right size?

Stand her against a wall or a door frame, heels flat, and mark the top of her head. That number in centimetres is the size to order — not her age, and not the size she's wearing now if she's had a growth spurt.

Does Infantium Victoria run true to size?

The chart above is our actual cut, not a generic conversion. Where a specific piece runs differently — looser through a smock front, say, or cut close through a fitted bodice — that's noted on its own product page.

What if she's between two sizes?

Size up. Our cut is slim and European, which runs smaller than many people expect, and a piece with room to grow is more useful than one that fits for a single season.

What happens when a piece is outgrown?
